CONTEMPORARY AUSTRALIAN SILVER & METALWORK EXHIBITION - BUDA 2007
Hosted by Buda in conjunction with the Castlemaine State Festival since 1988, this exhibition has grown into a highly respected and far-reaching biennial review of Australia’s leading exponents of silver and metalwork.
The Contemporary Australian Silver & Metalwork Buda 2007 exhibition was officially opened by Lesley Alway, Director of Heide Museum of Modern Art, on April 1, 2007 at Buda Historic Home & Garden.
Selected items from the exhibition are currently touring Victoria.

Leviny Commemorative Award
Awarded to Robert Foster for his Spiral Vase constructed with Fine Silver in combination with an enclosed anodised aluminium liner
The Australian Decorative & Fine Arts Society (Melbourne) Award
Awarded to Jin Ah Jo for her ensemble of brooches and pendents, Function Suggests Form.
Arts Centre Award
Awarded to Daehoon Kang’s skilfully constructed illuminated object inspired by The Flying Fruit Fly Circus, The Dancing Circus.
P.J. Williams Award
Jointly awarded to Danielle Lott for Bush Gem and Claire O’Halloran’s series of small bowls which reference commemorative Australian crockery of the 1940’s and 50’s.
The Gold & Silversmiths Guild of Australia Award
Awarded to Kara Breadmore who developed her concept through research into Victorian wallpaper and utilised 925 sterling silver, paint and aluminum.
